Tiny pump cleans up stronger

New Tsurumi LSC2.75S residue dewatering pump

Tsurumi has given its LSC a performance boost: The new version of the market leader's popular residual dewatering pump now even reaches cellars 15 m deep - and sucks them dry.

Only recently, the Japanese company had worked on its HS universal pump and upgraded it considerably. Now it's the turn of the LSC.

Compared to its almost identical predecessor, the new LSC2.75S model has an output increase of around 36 percent but is only 55 mm taller. Hats off to the engineers!

With 750 watts of motor power, the submersible pump now moves 228 litres per minute. Alternatively, it can pump over a vertical distance of 15 metres, which is equivalent to about five building floors. And it does so quite thoroughly: placed on level ground, the LSC draws off the unwanted water almost completely. Only a residual height of about one millimetre remains - which is almost nothing. One wipe, and that´s gone, too.

This makes the LSC a powerful new tool for thoroughly and quickly pumping dirty water out of buildings, from surfaces or out of tanks.

The pumping action does not need to be supervised. The LSC can be repositioned during operation without water running back. Due to the small diameter of the housing, the pump even fits through narrow pipes with inner diameters of 200 mm. In height, the pump measures only 37 cm overall, with a dry weight of only 15 kg. There are no protruding parts, the base plate is made of rubberised stainless steel.

Users can quickly turn the hose nozzle (50 mm) to drain the water horizontally instead of vertically. Sucked up pebbles 6 mm in size are technically irrelevant. Even when no water is flowing, the lifesaving lubrication and cooling is guaranteed. Tsurumi has cast the cable inlet: A short circuit due to creeping water is considered impossible. Ultra-hard materials such as silicon carbide in the mechanical seal stand for long service lives. Nevertheless, the LSC is easy to repair, even by the user himself.

With the new model, the manufacturer is effectively establishing a new series of dewatering pumps. The (only) predecessor, the LSC(E)1.4S with 480 watt motor, one of the best-selling pumps of its kind in the world, remains in the range some 20 years after its market launch.
