The project:
Preclarification of brewery wastewater from the Egerer private brewery before introduction into the community wastewater network. Clarification should take place in the existing round tank with a 12m diameter and a depth of max. 6.5m.
Executing company:
Privatbrauerei und Mineralbrunnenvertrieb H. Egerer, Großkölnnbach
Tsurumi consultants:
Mr. Carsten Bode (Product Manager Aeration Systems)
Mr. Christian Kulik (External sales force Bavaria)
The problem:
Production wastewater leaving the brewery must be enriched with oxygen before it can be introduced into the local wastewater network.
The load factor of the wastewater is inspected by the community to calculate wastewater charges. A reduction in organic burden in the process wastewater would therefore lead to a corresponding reduction in wastewater charges.
The solution:
A 150TRN440 submersible aeratior with 40 kW motor power was installed centrally in a standalone installation in the existing round tank.
The submersible aeratior completely ventilates and mixes the round tank. The self-priming design of the assembly makes a compressor superfluous.
Depending on the water level, the aeration is time-controlled and the submersible ventilator will only be used temporarily. A foam monitor is also installed in the tank.
Electrical monitoring is carried out using a differential current relay (GFCI). Instead of being operated in a direct start, the ventilator is operated with a soft starter. This "slow start" protects the unit and entirely rules out any movement of the assembly in the tank due to the unavoidable jerk at start-up.
