Hollie Bowness is a professional Muay Thai athlete from the United Kingdom who has consistently demonstrated outstanding discipline, determination and professionalism – both inside and outside the ring. Alongside her sporting career, she works as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with special needs, making her a positive role model whose values closely align with Tsurumi's philosophy of resilience, hard work and sustainable development.
As part of her 2026 campaign, Hollie has been in Thailand since 23 December, where she will spend three months training and competing as a full-time professional athlete until mid-April.

17 January: A televised fight at the historic Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, one of the world's most renowned Muay Thai venues

Submersible pump motors are normally cooled by the surrounding liquid. When a pump is installed permanently outside the tank, this natural cooling effect no longer applies. Without an appropriate cooling concept, overheating and premature wear would be unavoidable.

The Grand Paris Express is fundamentally reshaping transport infrastructure across the Île-de-France region. On several of the lines currently under construction, Tsurumi France is playing an important supporting role — including on Metro Line 18, where tunnelling work is steadily advancing.
As the tunnel extends further away from the water treatment point, the challenge of transporting accumulating water increases significantly. Longer distances mean higher pressure losses in the drainage pipes — eventually exceeding the capacity of the pumps initially installed. To maintain continuous water flow to the treatment plant, the construction consortium needed an effective way to overcome these increasing hydraulic demands.
A Booster Solution for Long-Distance Pumping
The site management opted for a booster pump configuration, installing Tsurumi submersible pumps in series and outside the water — a non-standard setup that nevertheless works efficiently thanks to the robust design of Tsurumi pumps.

While much of the Lyon–Turin tunnel is being excavated using tunnel boring machines, several sections rely on traditional blasting techniques. Here, workers drill deep holes into the rock, fill them with dynamite, and detonate them to advance the tunnel. The loading drill shown in our photo breaks through the rock face, allowing the explosives to be placed precisely.
