Tsurumi invests in solar power at Kyoto plant

Published on 16.10.2025

Tsurumi has taken another important step toward sustainability and climate protection by installing a large-scale photovoltaic (PV) system at its manufacturing facility in Kyoto, Japan.

The new solar installation consists of 1,430 modules with a total output of approximately 844 kW. It generates around 810,000 kWh of electricity per year, covering roughly 15.3% of the plant's annual energy requirements. By utilizing this clean energy, the factory will reduce its CO₂ emissions by over 340 tonnes annually.

A key feature of the system is its integrated battery storage unit, which provides backup power during outages and serves as an emergency power source.

With this investment, Tsurumi reinforces its commitment to sustainable manufacturing, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility. The project is part of the company's broader initiative to minimize its ecological footprint and expand the use of renewable energy across all operations.
