Exactly one year ago today, we at #Tsurumi reached another milestone in our 101-year history with the commissioning of our new motor factory in Kyoto: Covering an area of just over 13,000 square metres, we assemble motors for our high-performance submersible pumps with a wide power range from 0.4 to 350 kW and manufacture many motor components ourselves, such as our stator windings.

The use of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies enables extremely high machining accuracy based on 3D CAD data. We are in the midst of man-made climate change. Summers are getting hotter worldwide, with long dry spells alternating with increasingly extreme rainfall events. In this world, it is important to take measures to slow down climate change. On the other hand, we must also adapt to the new reality. How do we deal with sudden heavy rainfall? When basements flood and sewers become overloaded?
Fire brigades, the construction industry and an increasing number of private users have been placing their trust in our #Tsurumi LSC flat suction pumps for many years. These are very compact, lightweight pumps that can be quickly transported to the site of operation with one hand – and start working immediately. Extremely easy to operate, the LSC pumps water down to a residual height of one millimetre. Under the motto 'Practice meets technology', we welcome customers and interested parties from the construction industry, skilled trades and building services engineering to #Nordbau! IOn 10 September we will be kicking off at stand N260/270 at #Tsurumi: look forward to functional and cutaway models, the latest series and useful accessories.
On the one hand, everything revolves around classic construction applications with powerful 230V pumps for dirty water, sludge and residual water. Highlights include the flat suction pumps of the LSC series, the versatile LB, the powerful HSA, HSD and NK pumps, and the UTA for #wastewater with a high solids content. The presentation of our pump range is complemented by accessories and a clear model of the forced lubrication system developed in-house. Some of the pumps will be running live in wet conditions.
The focus is also on applications around the building: here we will be presenting, among other things, the super-small Family pumps, a cutaway model of the POMA, the PNI, a petrol-powered TEM and a residual water pump with flange connection – as a complete system.
We will also be showcasing 400V pumps for heavy-duty use in infrastructure construction, building maintenance and specialised civil engineering. Robust models from the KTZ and KTVE series, a powerful agitator pump and a compact stainless steel pump will be on display at the event.

The so-called PID control (PID: proportional, integral, derivative) plays an important role in the legendary durability and energy efficiency of #Tsurumi pumps.
It offers users a major advantage in process control, as it continuously monitors the deviation between a desired setpoint and a process variable and adjusts the system's response as precisely as possible to the setpoint. In this way, the PID control in our pumps helps to save energy and extends service life.

Recently, our colleagues at @Tsurumi USA, in collaboration with Zone Industries, supported the development of a new launch pad for space rockets with our high-performance power units.
When a rocket is launched, its engines emit large flames. To cool the rocket, protect the concrete launch pad and absorb the resulting sound energy, a spray system releases thousands of litres of water during the launch. Most of the water turns into vapour, while the rest has to be pumped out.
To avoid this problem of evaporation, a newly designed spray system nicknamed the 'Booster Bidet' has been developed. This system delivers a powerful jet of over 360,000 litres of water within eight seconds. The water is fed through pipes from tanks pressurised with nitrogen. Finally, #Tsurumi high-pressure pumps from the KRS and LH series discharge the overflow water from the flame trench. In this way, the site is quickly prepared for repeated start-up cycles.
With more frequent launches into space, Tsurumi's pumps will play a relevant role in keeping the infrastructure intact and the missions on schedule.

The inrush current is generally limited during the soft start of a motor. Among other things, this prevents a voltage dip under heavy loads. At the same time, the mechanical components in the device are protected from excessive acceleration.
For these reasons, we use soft starters in our #Tsurumi pumps - whenever the direct start or the star/delta start are not suitable.

Our stand has been dismantled, our contractor and #wastewater pumps are on their way back to our warehouse at the #Tsurumi European headquarters in Düsseldorf. What remains are the memories of a very good week at #BAUMA and numerous interesting conversations with our trade fair guests!
Our Tsurumi team, supported by many of our European market partners, spent seven intensive days experiencing how important high-performance, durable and reliable pumps are to many companies in the construction industry. Discover our #Tsurumi LH12185D! This version of the LH series has a special impeller and currently the largest motor in our contractor pump range: the 2-pole, 185 kW motor impresses with effortless power delivery for tough #dewatering work in #mining and other construction projects.

The LH12185D offers a maximum flow rate of 14000 l/min and a maximum delivery head of 85 m - ideal for mining and #tunnelling work. The special feature: The LH12185D can suck in large quantities of water from both the upper and lower side of the double suction impeller. This reduces the thrust load, which extends the service life of the bearings and increases the stability of the pump operation. To withstand the tough operating conditions, the impeller is made of wear-resistant, high-chromium cast iron.

May we introduce? The powerful and robust #Tsurumi NKZ45.5 and NKZ611! The NKZ are sand and sludge pumps made of cast iron and driven by a 4-pole motor. The agitator mounted under the impeller supports the smooth pumping of water with settled solids. The spiral-shaped pump housing ensures the smooth passage of foreign matter in the medium.
The Tsurumi NKZ45.5 with 5.5 kW motor power offers you a maximum output of 2000 l/min and a maximum delivery head of 18.7 metres. The Tsurumi NKZ611 has even more power in store: with twice the motor power of 11kW, it pumps an impressive flow rate of up to 3,950 l/min over a maximum delivery head of 21.7m - that's about as high as a six-storey residential building.

Pumping #wastewater that contains contaminants with fibrous substances? Where conventional pumps fail, the #Tsurumi CZ series is in its element: The submersible pumps have a cutting and shredding function in a unique design: A heart-shaped suction opening with a sharp-edged fixed cutting blade combined with a semi-open channel impeller, which is also equipped with two sharp-edged blades, results in a scissor-like shredding mechanism.
This innovation enhances the CZ pump's ability to deal with larger debris. Clogging of the pump is thus prevented by a mix of shredding and crushing.

You never stop learning. Of course, this also applies to the handling of our high-performance pumps and the pump technology behind them. That's why regular training and courses are a natural part of our service offering. This is why, dealers and partners from Belgium, Finland, Poland and France met last week for a training day at #Tsurumi in Düsseldorf! The topics: Pump selection, dismantling, electrical know-how and more. We also enjoyed delicious Japanese food - a first for some!

At the start of the construction work of our innovative #Tsurumi plant in #Kyoto, all those involved now met to pray in a Japanese ceremony for the work to proceed safely. We are very much looking forward to completion in September 2024.
