Online Training: Bentonite Recycling and the Role of Tsurumi Pumps

Published on 15.09.2026

How do Tsurumi pumps support the efficient recycling of bentonite on construction sites? Find out in our free online training on Friday, 18 September.

Bentonite plays an important role in the construction industry thanks to its unique properties. When it comes into contact with water, the natural clay mineral swells considerably, forming a dense suspension with very low water permeability. These characteristics make bentonite indispensable for applications such as slurry walls, tunnelling and groundwater management.

However, the use of bentonite also presents challenges. Once contaminated with soil residues or other substances, bentonite suspensions can be expensive to dispose of. At the same time, the cost of fresh bentonite can be considerable. For this reason, the treatment and recycling of bentonite suspensions has become standard practice on many major construction sites. In large tunnel, subway and foundation projects, complete bentonite recycling plants are often operated directly on site.

Reliable pumping technology is an essential part of these processes. This is where Tsurumi pumps from the NKZ, KRD and GPN series come into play. They are designed for demanding applications and are particularly suitable for handling bentonite and other challenging fluids.

What you will learn

In our upcoming online training, Tsurumi experts will provide practical insights into bentonite recycling and the role of pumps within the process. Participants will learn:

  • which tasks pumps perform in bentonite recycling,
  • which Tsurumi pump series are suitable for these applications, and
  • what needs to be considered when selecting the right pump.

The training is aimed at anyone interested in efficient and reliable pumping solutions for demanding construction applications.

Join us live on Friday, 18 September, at 11:00 a.m. CEST. The online training will be held in English and is completely free of charge. Click this link to participate—it's free, of course: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8VGeqMV8SdWdtUXAlDfwcw#/registration

We look forward to welcoming you!
