In Finland, as a by-product of mining operations, Gypsum is produced and utilized as a soil enhancer and for water conservation. The customer's objective was to maintain a dry environment in this area and effectively manage on-site water removal.
Know moreThe WWT station of Freudenstadt suffered from the problem, that the installed pumps of another maker kept wearing out very fast in the challenging application of a sand trap. Due to the high percentage of sand in the medium to be pumped, normal sewage pumps in grey-cast-iron construction are in terms of material too weak to withstand the abrasion.

Know moreTsurumi is launching a new series of online training sessions dedicated to some of its most impressive pump solutions. While previous trainings have mainly focused on technical topics, the upcoming four-part series will spotlight individual pump ranges and their real-world applications.
The series begins on Friday, 6 March, with the KRS811, an extremely wear-resistant pump developed for demanding tunnel construction projects. The pump is widely used by customers to lower groundwater levels and drain large construction sites, often operating in 24/7 continuous duty under very challenging conditions.
During the live session at 11:00 a.m. (CET), participants will gain a detailed overview of the KRS811, including its design, special features, and the key applications for which it is best suited. The training will also present typical use cases and provide insights into how the pump performs in harsh construction environments.
Participation in the English-language online training is free of charge. The series will continue over the coming weeks with additional sessions highlighting other robust Tsurumi pump ranges. Simply click here on the respective training session and you will participate in the training session via Zoom:
27 March: The robust slow-speed pumps of the GSZ series, including new models
17 April: The jacket-cooled slurry pumps of the NKZ series
15 May: The heavy-duty sand pumps of the GSD series
Anyone who would like to learn more about the KRS series in advance can already find detailed specifications and further information on the Tsurumi website.

Diesel generators have long been the standard power source for construction and sewage pumps. But the industry is evolving. Today, battery-powered mobile energy solutions offer a cleaner, quieter, and emission-free alternative — without compromising on performance.
In cooperation with Tsurumi Pumps UK and Instagrid, real-world performance tests were carried out to explore this sustainable approach.
Two pumps were connected to battery-powered generators:
The LB-480 drainage pump
The KTV3-55 heavy-duty tunnel construction pump
The goal: measure how much water could be transported on a single battery charge.
The Results Speak for Themselves
Both units pumped approximately 40,000 litres of water on just one battery charge.
✔ Energy-efficient
✔ Quiet in operation
✔ Completely emission-free
These impressive results demonstrate that battery-powered solutions are no longer a niche alternative — they are a viable, future-ready option for dewatering applications on construction and infrastructure sites.
Detailed insights into the test setup and results can be found here.

We recently welcomed our Finnish market partners to the Tsurumi European headquarters in Düsseldorf for an intensive two-day training programme. Six participants from our authorised dealer Machinery Oy and its service partner Flowplus Oy took part in the practical course, which combined in-depth product knowledge with hands-on experience.
Following a welcome dinner the evening before, the training began with an introduction to the Tsurumi brand and its comprehensive product portfolio. Our technical experts Stefan Himmelsbach, Sandor Rostas and Fernando Morales guided the participants through the programme with great enthusiasm and expertise.
A key focus was placed on the unique features of Tsurumi high-performance pumps, including the double internal mechanical seal and the oil lifter – both developed in-house by Tsurumi engineers and technicians. Further topics included the function of the motor protection plug, checking the correct direction of rotation, identifying pumps with missing or damaged nameplates, and an overview of pressure booster and jet pump systems. Participants also gained valuable insights into the capabilities of the Tsurumi Connect digital monitoring system.
In addition to the theoretical sessions, the training placed strong emphasis on practical application. Together with our Finnish guests, used pumps were examined and their condition assessed. Participants were able to dismantle individual units themselves, reassemble them professionally and carry out functional testing afterwards.
After two informative and engaging days filled with technical knowledge, practical tips and valuable exchange, we said goodbye to our Finnish colleagues. We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration in the future.
