In Finland, as a by-product of mining operations, Gypsum is produced and utilized as a soil enhancer and for water conservation. The customer's objective was to maintain a dry environment in this area and effectively manage on-site water removal.
Know moreThe WWT station of Freudenstadt suffered from the problem, that the installed pumps of another maker kept wearing out very fast in the challenging application of a sand trap. Due to the high percentage of sand in the medium to be pumped, normal sewage pumps in grey-cast-iron construction are in terms of material too weak to withstand the abrasion.

Know moreThis Friday, May 15, Tsurumi invites you to a new online training session focusing on one of our most powerful pump series: the GSD range. Designed for high head and high flow performance, the GSD sludge pumps are engineered specifically for continuous operation under the harsh conditions found on large construction sites and in mining applications.
During the online training, we will introduce the GSD series in detail and present the key features that make this pump range exceptionally reliable and durable. Among the highlights is the agitator made of high-chromium cast iron, ensuring smooth and efficient sediment intake even in demanding environments. Participants will also get an up-close look at other robust cast iron components, including the impeller, during the free livestream.
Every aspect of the GSD series has been developed with robustness and longevity in mind. The pumps feature pressure relief ports at the seal section, reducing pressure on the mechanical seal and contributing to extended service life. A spiral-shaped side-flow channel guarantees efficient solids handling, while a water jacket cooling system protects the motor during prolonged operation in low-water conditions.
Join us live on Friday at 11:00 AM (CEST) for this English-language online training session and discover the advanced engineering behind the GSD series.
You can join the livestream directly via this link.
Detailed specifications for the GSD series are available on our website. If you would like to learn more about this or other pump series, feel free to contact us by email at sales@tsurumi.eu — our team will respond promptly.

Tsurumi looks back on a highly successful IFAT 2026 in Munich, where the company welcomed numerous visitors from across the international water and wastewater industry over the course of the four-day exhibition.
The event once again proved to be an important platform for exchanging ideas, presenting innovative technologies, and strengthening relationships with customers and partners. Tsurumi's high-performance pumps and digital solutions attracted significant attention throughout the exhibition, while the company's Japan-inspired booth in Hall B1 created a welcoming environment for in-depth technical discussions and networking.
Particularly encouraging for the Tsurumi team was the strong interest shown by industry professionals in the company's broad portfolio of construction, industrial, and wastewater solutions. Visitors explored technologies including cutter pumps, aeration systems, foam separators, and digital monitoring applications. The many conversations held during the exhibition also provided valuable insights into current market requirements and operational challenges faced by customers in the field.
Tsurumi emphasises that direct dialogue with users and partners remains an essential part of product development and innovation. The exchange of practical experience and application-specific requirements helps the company continuously improve its technologies and services.
Although IFAT 2026 has now concluded, the trade show season continues for Tsurumi across Europe. In the immediate aftermath of IFAT, visitors in northern Italy still have the opportunity to experience Tsurumi solutions at SAMOTER in Verona, where the company's Italian market partners at DRAGFLOW are presenting heavy-duty construction and industrial pumps at Booth D6.
Additional exhibitions and industry events are scheduled throughout Europe until the end of June, underlining Tsurumi's ongoing commitment to staying close to customers and industry professionals across the region.
Further information about upcoming trade shows and exhibition dates can be found on the Tsurumi website.

Tsurumi is set to present its latest innovations in wastewater and industrial pumping technology at IFAT Munich, taking place from 4–7 May at Messe München. Visitors are invited to explore the company's Japan-inspired stand (B1.444), where cutting-edge solutions and proven engineering expertise will be on display.
Rooted in Japan, Tsurumi continues to manufacture its high-performance construction, industrial, and wastewater pumps according to its "stronger for longer" philosophy—emphasizing durability, efficiency, and long service life. This commitment remains central to the company's global reputation.
One of the key highlights at this year's exhibition is the CZ pump series, which has gained strong traction in the European market since its debut at the previous IFAT. Specifically designed for wastewater containing high levels of solids and fibres, the CZ range addresses challenges that often push conventional pumps to their limits. Its innovative cutting system features a heart-shaped suction plate combined with a precision scissor mechanism, enabling reliable shredding of materials such as textiles and wet wipes before they enter the hydraulic section. The result is a significantly reduced risk of clogging and enhanced operational continuity.
In addition, Tsurumi will showcase its TRN submersible aerators, designed for efficient oxygenation in biological treatment processes. Particularly suited for municipal wastewater applications, these units offer flexible integration into existing tank systems and can be combined seamlessly with other mixing and aeration technologies.
Digitalisation is another focal point of Tsurumi's presentation. With Tsurumi Connect, the company presents a smart solution for monitoring and managing plant operations. The system not only connects Tsurumi equipment but also supports devices from other manufacturers, enabling comprehensive condition monitoring, alarm management, and straightforward integration into existing infrastructures.
With a strong lineup of innovations and practical solutions, Tsurumi looks forward to engaging with industry professionals and partners throughout the event.

Tom from our Tsurumi team in Düsseldorf recently returned from a visit to one of the most advanced pump and motor production facilities operated by our parent company in Kyoto, Japan — and his impressions speak volumes.
What immediately stands out is the extraordinary level of integration. From raw material processing and precision machining to fully automated assembly and final performance testing, every step of the production process is seamlessly connected under one roof. This end-to-end approach not only drives efficiency but ensures consistently high quality and reliability across the entire product range.
The sheer scale of operations is equally impressive. The facility handles everything from compact units to large, custom-built pumps, all supported by cutting-edge testing infrastructure. Large-scale performance testing systems and dedicated research and development laboratories underline the company's commitment to innovation and engineering excellence.
Advanced manufacturing technologies are at the heart of this operation. Robotics, flexible production systems, and even 3D-printed moulds are used to push precision and consistency to new levels. Yet, beyond the machinery, it is the mindset that truly defines the facility: a relentless focus on quality, continuous improvement, and long-term thinking.
This philosophy becomes even more tangible at the ACQUA MUSEO, located within the Kyoto site. The museum offers visitors a journey through the history and evolution of water technology and pumping systems. It highlights how today's sophisticated solutions are built on decades of engineering expertise and innovation. The exhibition also emphasizes the crucial role pumping systems have played in shaping modern cities, improving public health, and enabling industrial development.
The combination of state-of-the-art manufacturing and deep respect for technical heritage creates a powerful perspective: innovation does not begin from scratch — it is built on experience, knowledge, and continuous refinement.
